Wind Farm Tour August 5, 2008
Montgomery County Farm Bureau took a group of 55 to see the wind turbine farm in Mclean County. First the group stopped off at the McLean County Extension office where ILF attorney Ryan Gammlegard spoke of theings to consider when before signing a contract with the engery provider. After lunch Randy Llyod got on the bus and took the group out to his farm where he and his family has four turbines. The group got to walk up to see the turbines close hand. On the way home, the bus stopped along US 51 south of Cliinton where there is a storage yard for wind turbines. The group got to see up close how big the nacelle really are.
