M & M Service Company shows commitment to Illinois Ag in the Classroom. M & M Service Company recently showed its commitment to agriculture literacy programs in Montgomery County with a presentation of funds to the local Ag in the Classroom program. The funds are a portion of the comprehensive donation to the Illinois Ag in the Classroom provided through GROWMARK’S FS Seed Division. FS Seed Division has provided annual contributions to the Illinois Ag in the Classroom program since 2003. M & M Service Company receives a portion of the total donation for direct grants to fund local programs. This year’s contribution brings the four-year total to nearly $235,000. “Many children have lost the connection to the farm and aren’t aware that real people grow the food that ends up on their plates at the dinner table, and real people raise the corn and soybeans and other products that are turned into the renewable fuels that run their parent’s cars and other vehicles,” said Bill Davisson. CEO of GROWMARK, the regional agricultural supply and grain marketing cooperative comprises of FS member cooperatives. “Through the Illinois Ag in the Classroom program, we’re working to make sure they know where their food and related products come from.” The IAA Foundation was established in 1987 to support educational, research, and charitable activities which benefit agriculture, Illinois farm families and county Farm Bureaus. Illinois Ag in the Classroom provides agriculture-based curricula for K-8 students and teacher training. The IAA Foundation supports Illinois Ag in the Classroom programs through a variety of annual fundraising and donations such as the one from FS Seed. GROWMARK is a regional cooperative providing agriculture-related products and services and grain marketing in the Midwest. FS brand products and related services are also marketed to farmers in the northeastern United States and Ontario, Canada through local GROWMARK member cooperatives, and by GROWMARK subsidiaries.
