Here’s a heads up for FB members living west of Nokomis to about Irving to Pana along Illinois Route 16. Nextera Energy is looking at the possibility of putting up wind turbines. I met with them yesterday September the 28th in my office. They also met with officials from Christian County yesterday too.



Their website is http://www.nexteraenergyresources.com. Currently, this company operates more than 60 wind sites in North America (16 states and in Canada) and recently finished a 145 turbine project in Lee and DeKalb Counties. They started in wind energy in 1989. Nextera has been looking at this region for quite sometime according to the two gentlemen that I met with yesterday. Of course they are in the introductory phases and seem sincere in being competitive with the market and doing the necessary measures to establish good relationships with landowners in the area of the proposed project.

Here are the final numbers for the Young Leaders Corn Plot that was harvested Tuesday September the 9th.

Congratulations goes to the Quiz Bowl Team from Montgomery County! They finished fourth out of 36 teams at the Quiz Bowl Contest at the State Fair yesterday. The team consisted of Brian Brown (Hillsboro), Thomas Marten (Raymond) and Brant Wernsing (Raymond). Again, a BIG CONGRATULATIONS!
